First, It's important to know that I honestly didn't have a clue what MFG could really blog about. The last time that I personally used a blog was more than four years ago, and back then, they had a completely different usage than they do now. So coming up with something took some time, some looking around. But eventually I came to see that the majority of a blog's contents are advertisements, news updates about current projects people are working on, some were more strictly focused on simply staying to one topic.
So, I wondered what to do and I came up with an answer. What you can expect to see from the MFG Mouth Off is the following:
So that being said, we're going to launch right into our review of Self-Published Author S. Cu'Anam Policar. Her story, entitled "The Rise of Xosha", serves as an excellent prequel novel to the Legend of Xosha series, also written by Policar. Rated at 4 and a half stars out of a total of 5.
The story itself is gripping, right from the get go. For a 112 page book, Rise of Xosha is gripping and brings you straight into the world of the characters. Without revealing any spoilers the story takes an old and established myth and interprets it fantastically. The story flows nicely, with characters that make you really want to be part of their world.
With conflict rising, Xosha's main cast is diversified, with humans portrayed in a way that one would not expect, and being able to see through the eyes of the various creatures, such as Oceanus, who is simply trying to lead his people to a new, prophesied land, while contending with the hot-headed views of his brood brother, Pyre. And in the middle of them, and their desire to find a new peaceful land, they bring about an ancient evil, one that was sealed away long ago. From the get go, already the dragons have their divisions, their evil selves, who have desired to enslave humanity, yet, it's the humans, who ironically, do the enslaving of these great and mythical beasts. Will they be free?
This review won't tell you that, but, it will tell you that it is definitely worth the purchase. The struggle of the Dragons and the Wolves, and their unsteady alliance ultimately culminates in a relationship that can only be described as brilliant; where cultures really are brought together and compared and explored. Overall, pick up the book and go out and get involved in this wonderfully written world.
